It's tough being me.

Mum is home from work this week. Yesterday after Papa went to work I got to sleep in the big bed. Mum and I slept until 10:15. It was great.
Then we went to the park. Today it is snowing! So who knows what we will do!

There is a Santa Paws!

Santa Paws read my letter! And I actually got some of the stuff on my list!!!
First, he left me a piece of antler!! It's my new most favorite chew .... My nyla bone is history!
Mum and I went to the dog park yesterday too and what to my wondering eyes had appeared but a giant water fountain with a spout for people and a spout for puppies! Its awesome! And we were BOTH so surprised!
Then Mum and Papa went to a friends house for dinner and they gave Mum a power adapter that magically made her laptop work again! It's not a new laptop to blog with.... But it's just as good!
Just goes to show, it pays to ask for what you want, you don't always get what you want but you get what you need!
Thank you Santa Paws!
I also got two new jackets! A rain coat from Mum and a puffy coat from G-ma! Thanks G-ma, thanks Mum!
This was the best Christmas ever! Now I have to go ... I have a lot of chewing to do!

Old Navy hates dogs, but G-Ma doesn't!

We got a delivery last night!! It was a very special delivery from my Nanny in Cape Breton! She sent us a big box of presents for Christmas and there was presents for me!
One present is wrapped and under the tree but the other, was this Christmas t-shirt. It fits me so well, and I look so handsome in it (as always).

Mum tried to find me a Christmas t-shirt at Old Navy but they don't sell dog stuff anymore. Good thing G-Ma surprised us with this one or I'd have nothing to wear on Christmas morning!
I also got some mail! I got a Christmas card addressed especially to me from my Auntie Dawn and Uncle Adam. I felt so special!

Oh the package also had a new Christmas stocking for my Papa. G-Ma made it for him special. Here's a picture, it's totally staged, I am never allowed on the coach!
Ok, time to go play!
Thank you Nanny!

An open Christmas Letter

I don't know if Santa is a regular on the blog circuit but I thought I would take a chance. I hear if you write to him he'll sneak in through the doggy door on Christmas morning and bring everything you ask for. So here goes ....

Dear Santa Paws,
I have been a mostly good boy this year. I've chewed a few things I shouldn't have, peed in the house on occasion and pretended to be sleeping when Mum tried to take me for walks in the rain. You probably already know all that, and my Mum and Dad have forgiven me so I am sure you can too!
There are a few things I would like to ask for. I would like steps to help me get on the couch and the big bed, some new toys from Planet Dog, one of your Reindeer's antlers to chew on (Comit's to be specific, he's my favorite), a years supply of Fromm treats, I'd like my Mum and Papa to never go anywhere without me, I'd like a water fountain and lights for my favorite dog park, a new bed, a new computer to blog with, and a few surprises.
I hope that isn't too much, I am sure you can handle it.
Mum says she'll leave you a glass of eggnog with a splash of Rum, and I will try really hard not to eat your cookies.
Thanks a bunch, your friend

Oh baby!

I met a baby last night!!! He was the tiniest little person I ever did see! I didn't know people came in that size. I've seen little kids at the park, and I play with Lucas next door, but this little guy was too small to play! He was only the size of Papa's shoes!
My mum's friend came for dinner last night and brought her brand new baby Wesley. He is 5 weeks old, but he was born 3 weeks early, and he's only 9 little pounds .... Mum says I weigh 60 big pounds.
I was so excited to meet him, he smells so good, and like sooo many things I never smelled before.
Mum made it very clear that I was not allowed to jump, only sniff. (But I did sneak a few licks - he was too cute not to)
I felt so many emotions, first I was excited to have visitors! I even let out a bark! Then I was a little scared because he made little noises I never heard before, and had so many smells, and then I felt jealous cause my Mum was cuddling him and not me. She let me smell his feet though and rubbed my chin and told me everything was alright and I felt better then, so I went and layed under my bed for a while. And then they went home and I was excited again because Mum was all mine again. And then I fell asleep and snored really loud, cause all that newness is very tiring.
The picture is me giving Wesley a goodbye sniff, you can see his little teddy bear hat.
Bye for now!

Oh My Dog! I went to meetup Saturday for the first time in a veeeery long time! I had so much fun with all the other bullies! There were about 10 of us and we all got along really well. Mum tried to take pictures but they came out blurry ... Haha we're too fast for her.
We can't post the pictures either because of "technical difficulties" (Mum's computer died!). So she is typing this for me on her blackberry. (My toes are too big for the keys).
It was also my first time at the dog park in almost a month. We have been lying low because last time we went I came home with a serious pimp limp. Mum didn't think was nearly as cool as I did.
Yesterday we walked to Papa's work and drove home. I was pretty tired, but I did get lots of attention in my Camo hoodie.
Oh and I was invited for dinner this week. Yup, Miss AnnAlise invited my Mum and Dad and ME to go to her house for dinner. I was so tired afterwards! There was just so much to explore!

Well that was my weekend. I wonder what this week brings?

Dear God what is that thing!?!

So it's Christmas again .... Apparently it happens every year, and I am good with that. I made out pretty well last year, and I have my suspicions I'll do better this year. I know Mum has smuggled at least one thing into the house and she says G-Ma is sending me a package with two presents... That's right TWO!!
What I don't get, is this Christmas "Tree". Sure, it looked like a tree after Mum put it together and before she covered it in those shiny balls. But it doesn't smell like a tree and I am not allowed to pee on it like a real tree, and I can't play with the balls, so really ... what is the point?
Mum was busy with the tree last night and also had a friend come over, so I was kind of neglected. But, I was a good boy (most of the time) and only sniffed her friends toes a few times... Just to figure out who she was. She seemed nice enough, and I thought Mum would be safe with her, so I went and played with my ball while they visited.
Papa got home from his work very early this morning, and doesn't have to go back for a few days. I am hoping that means fun times ahead.
He is still sleeping, and Mum is gone to where ever it is she goes everyday (I think it's "work" too, but its not the same place Papa goes and I have never seen it, so I'm not sure). So I think I will rest up and be ready for a good game of fetch when he gets up. Have a good day everybody!

I forgot to tell you Mum is making me some more Sweet Potater treats! Look, they are almost ready!!!

We saw Big Bird!

Mum and I went bird watching yesterday..not on Sesame Street... at Colonie Farm!! We saw our favorite big bird .. two of them actually.....Great Blue Herons! Herons fly like pterodactyls and make a horrible noise.... but they look so handsome standing in the water.

We saw a few other dogs on our walk, and lots of ducks ... luckily we didn't see the park's newest resident ...

Yup... a cougar! Mum says he would eat us both for lunch but I think I could take him!

It was a cold and frosty day and it looked really pretty, but I was happy to get back in the car where it was nice and warm.
Mum went out without me yesterday...twice...not that I am counting.... and I didn't get locked on the kitchen! I was FREEEEEEE!  I was a very good boy, and got to stay out when they went out today too!

This afternoon we went for a walk around the neighborhood and we met my people friend Cathy. Cathy loves me and always comes to play when she sees me. She is a foster Mom to a rottweiler. He has been with them for 7 months and they have decided to adopt  him. I think it will be a great  forever home for him.

I was a little tired when we got home so I took a nap, with my favorite toy.
I think now it's time for supper....gotta go!

The unveiling

I can finally unveil my most handsome Christmas card! I didn't want to ruin the surprise for anyone, but my aunt Dinky (no that's not her real name) all the way in Nova Scotia got her card today, so that should mean everyone else has too.

I'm sorry if you didn't get one, my Mum must not have your address (because I think she sent them to everyone we know). So here it is ....... Merry Christmas everyone....

So the snow is long gone but the rain has really put a damper ( ha - damp!) on my social life.
Also, day light savings time seems more like no day light time. It's enough to make me depressed.
Mum and I went for a walk at Mundy Park on saturday. It was kind of eerie! There were cars in the parking lot but we didn't see a single soul ... Furry or otherwise. But we did hear birds we've never heard before. The trails were sloppy and muddy, and Mum's feet got cold and wet. It was kind of like that movie The Mist, except we found our way back to the car and went home where it was warm and cozy ... but otherwise ... just like The Mist!
On the up side both my Mum and Papa have been home the last couple nights. We all sit together and watch tv. Mum makes some pretty funny sounds when we watch Glee! And we play fetch in the living room. My favorite maneuver is when I run across the room, bunny hop onto my bed, slide across the floor on the bed, and grab my bone. It's a tough trick, it not only takes extreme athletisism ... which I have ... but also, impeccable comedic timing .... which I also have!
Last night, Mum and Papa went on an outing and came back with food ... But they called it groceries. I stayed home and protected the house, and then I helped bring the groceries from the car. I'm a great help. I don't carry much, but I keep Mum company.
Well back to my nap. I hear the weekend is coming ... Hopefully that means something exciting.

Outside? No, I'm good thanks!

So the picture I am showing you is Mum's view of our street from her bus stop this morning. As you can see, some of that snow stuff fell over night, and keeps falling!
I am still a little confused by snow. I mean, what is it? Frozen weather? It's weird.
I should probably mention, that Mum says in most places in Canada snow is pretty normal ... But we don't live in most places! We live in British Columbia, near Vancouver ... Last year on Christmas day it was 10 degrees C. And even though this is my second winter, it's my first "how's your father" with snow! And I am feeling a little bit like Sam McGee ... Except I'm from California.
Moments before that picture was taken I had the misfortune of having to go outside for a pee. I did it quickly and ran back inside. First of all, it was cold! Especially after just getting out of my warm cozy bed. But the real issue about snow is .... I don't trust it! I don't know what's hiding underneath it!
Anyway, I am back inside now snuggled on my blankie, next to the heater. A bulldogs winter paradise really.
I'm gonna take a nap and dream of summer days in the Coquitlam River. As they say in the Great White North ... Keep your stick on the ice!

... Awww... ZzzzzZzzzzz.

Snow is Cold ... I mean Cool!

Today has been a Finn-O-Rama! The whole day has centered around me and it's been awesome.

Mum made me some sweet potater snacks last night, and I got to try them this morning. They are crunchy and sweet  and yummy!

We went to Mundy Park this morning for a two hour walk! It was a bit of a photoshoot. Mum thought it would be the prefect day to get a photo for our Christmas card, and she was right! We got the shot.... but we are keeping it a secret for now!

I wore my new hoodie.... I looked awesome and everyone told me so! The snow was so fun to play in, and it makes everything taste different too.

The park was so pretty, and it was extra exciting because it was my first time actually playing in the snow.

At the end of our walk, we stopped at the dog park so I could play with some other dogs. There were a couple of shit-zoooos who went nuts when they saw me, they barked there stupids heads off through the fence. Their Mom tried to stop them by patting them on the head and telling them it was ok...... she needs to watch Cesar ... no wonder her pups are wack-jobs ;)

I had a nap when we got home, and I was set and ready when it was time to go again. First we went to Dog Town. I love that store, they have the coolest stuff and the yummiest snacks. They gave me some turkey jerky. I had to share it with Peanut Butter, the store dog. We bought a canister there to keep my kibble yummy and fresh.

Then we went to Bosley's and bought my kibble! Mmmm Bison and Sweet Potatoes! They had Santa in the store today too! They were doing photo's with Santa, but we didn't get one.... that stuff is for Puppies. (Besides, I already sent him my Christmas wish list)

I think I will spend the rest of the evening snuggled up on my bed. I am gonna sleep like a puppy tonight!

Later Taters

Maestro Finn in the Hood..or should I say Hoodie!

The day started off rough.. I spent the morning in the kitchen. When the parental units returned from their outing Mum and I went for a walk.... It was freakin' cold!! There was still snow on the ground from last night. It was only my second time seeing snow so I thought it was pretty interesting... I like how it tastes and also how it crunches under my feet!

Mum went for groceries tonight 'cause it was starting to look like Old Mother Hubbard's kitchen at our house. She stopped at the pet store on the way home and bought me a special "just because" present. She got me a Camo Hoodie. It looks so cool, but it's so toasty warm!

I am gonna be the coolest dog at the park tomorrow! I cant wait.

Happy Saturday everybody!

Operation Guilt

My parents suck! and so has my week... and I say that with love.
See, I had to stay home two days this week while they went to work ..Thats right 2... sure Mum leaves the radio on for me, and Papa comes to check on me.... but they left me! The first day they came home for only a short time and went out again!
I was pretty upset with them when they got home, and Mum knew it. She convinced Papa to let me sleep in the big bed. I was psyched ... I have only been in the big bed twice .... and only to keep Mum company when she was feeling sick. When Mum asked if I wanted to sleep in the bed I was so excited, I tried to climb in on my own.... not easy for a guy like me. It was great at first, but after 10 minutes I had had enough of Papa's growling, so I decided to leave. But I still wasn't content, so I did all I could do ....I cried ... yup, works like a charm every time. I sat outside the bedroom door and really started to wail. It worked! Mum ended up coming out in the living room with me.(Sucker) And we were pretty warm and comfy on the floor until about 2:30am when I decided to go to MY bed. That was Wednesday. By Thursday evening Mum was like putty in my paws, we snuggled, we played, she gave me carrots while she made dinner, and we shared an apple for dessert.
Tonight, Mum was late getting home, she had some excuse about going to the bank .... I have been to the bank ... and I didn't like ... there are funny machines that make noise, doors that move on their own, and slippery floors. Why would anyone choose to go there instead of coming home to me? She obviously has not learned her lesson, so I am keeping a low profile tonight. I have kept my distance, taken quite a few naps and let out a lot of sighs I good or what!
Tomorrow is Saturday, I'll keep you posted what we get up too.... if she has learned anything this week it will be a good day.

Je suis Robo Dog!

I am beat! Mum had a four day weekend and we have been so busy!
We went to Mundy park 3 times! On Thursday  I played with some retrievers, they were fun I guess, but all they do is run after balls and bring them back.... when I tried to wrestle they would just lay down and ignore me. BORING! I mean, come on! There was a Boston there too, she was awesome but didn't stay long.

After playing in the dog park Mum and I walked the trails. I didn't have to wear my leash and I was really good .... most of the time. On the first day I got a little excited and ran too far ahead of Mum. When she snagged me she was not pleased and we walked straight to the car and came home ..... I did not make that mistake again! Some people think I have Mum wrapped around my paw, but when she gets mad she's like a pitbull.

Friday night we went to town center park, we walked the perimeter of the park, and I was zonked. We met a few other dogs, and watched some soccer. I don't know why they wont let me play. I got skills!

Today was the biggest day of all! We went to the park this morning early and there was a French Bulldog Meet-up. They were on the small dog side, so Mum and I went on the big dog side. I was getting pretty bored with the retrievers so Mum asked if I could play with the Frenchies. They  said they would love for me to come play with them. I had sooooo much fun! Those Frenchie know how to play! We chased each other, wrestled, and I impressed everyone when I jumped right over one of the other dogs. I cleared the bitch like Perdita Felicien!

I was really dirty when we got home! It was a really sloppy day. Mum gave me a bath when we got home. I told her we didn't need to post bath tub pictures but she said "But you look so cute". That's moms for ya.... no concern at all for our street cred!

To top off the day we went to the local shelter where I got chipped! Yup they implanted a tiny micro chip in me! Cool huh? Now if I get lost all they have to do is scan my cat and it will tell them how to get me home. I'm like a cyborg dog, half dog half machine..... ok maybe not half and half but you get the picture.

So I bet that was more than most dogs did this weekend! I'm gonna need a few days to recover.

I think I'll start recovering right now... time for bed!
Later chi -wa -was.

I'm Back

Wow, its been so long since I had a post.... I hope you are all still checking!

Mum and I went to the dog park this morning, and it was soooo fun. I met a little French girl named Violet, she was only eight months old, and when she ran she looked like a like rabbit....or maybe like a frog.... hahaha...I kill me! Mum always says that when we have a yard I can get a little frenchie sister, and if she is like Violet that would be awesome. We chased each other around and hopped over each other, and I shared my water with her. I was a real gentleman and let her drink first. Her Mom and Dad really loved me too. They said they want  a bulldog just like me... and they recognized my exceptional facial features and physique.

Violet's Mom says there is a frenchie meet-up happening at the same park next Sunday. My mum says we might go. We try to get to the English Bulldog meet-ups but they are always so far away! Violet told me that last week they had a Halloween meet-up at that park and they all wore costumes....and we missed it...thanks Mum!

I didn't get to go to football last night because it was raining. I had to stay home and hold down the fort! It's been raining for a few days :( Mum tried to take me for a walk a few minutes ago but I made it very clear I was not into that. So we just went outside and had a pee and then ran back inside. Papa washed my blankie and my bed tonight too, so I think I might just hunker down it for the night.

Well thats my news for now. Toot-a-loo

What you lookin' at?

I'll make a real post real soon I promise. My Mum's been too busy to help my type! Silly Mum.
Football tonight! When will they let me play?

Just Chillin'

This was me hangin' in the kitchen with Mum last night .... Hopin' she would drop some veggies for me.

Monday, October 25, 2010

Mum wanted to go for a walk. It's cold, dark and raining. I walked far enough to have a poop and then said .... Really? I think I have had enough of this!

Dr. Finn to the Rescue

Where should I begin! I had a really exciting week. Nonna and Nonno came to visit from Toronto for a few days. They went with Mum and I to the dog park on Friday, they were so impressed with how fast I could run. After the park we came home and had dinner and then off to football. I got to show off my new jacket. I looked pretty cool, but I was toasty warm!

I also got to see Lola!! We got to play and wrestle, and I gave her kisses too!

And I got to play with Lola's people sister too. We all watched the football game together, and Lola's Mom loved my jacket. She was hoping that when Lola's dad saw how great I looked he would let Lola wear a jacket too... but no luck. He is a strictly no clothing for dogs kind of guy.

Saturday, Mum and Dad got me a new bag of food, and a new bone. I was very excited about the new old one was getting kind of gross. I spent the whole day playing with my new bone, and napping to recover from my very exciting Friday night. We also stopped by the neighbor's house to say hi. Lucas's Mommy told us that Lucas was getting to big for his soother, so she told him that if he gave up it up the soother fairy would bring him a present. He was very excited about a new present. So, his mommy asked him what kind of present he would like and he  said "A puppy, I want a Finn". Needless to say the soother fairy has not brought him a Finn.... I am one of a kind! But I did feel pretty special, and I would be sad if Lucas had his own new Finn.... I would miss playing with him.

Mum was feeling kind of sick this morning... actually a lot sick! After she hurled, we both went back to bed. I got to sleep on the bed too. I snuggled in close to Mum , cause I knew that would be the best medicine for her. We slept for two hours, and we were so warm and cozy when Mum finally felt like getting out of bed I didn't want to leave.

To thank me for my excellent bedside manner, Mum bought me this cool t-shirt today. I will be stylin' for Halloween.

Well thats my news! Tomorrow life is back to normal. I'll let you know what I get up too next.

Finally Legal!

I have had a great weekend!
Friday, I went to a football game. Mum and I watched, and Papa was coaching. It was at town center park, so the best part was I could watch Football and Soccer at the same time.

It was super duper cold, so Mum and I came home and got winter coats and went back. We sat on a blanket on the grass, and they have the best water fountain ever. It has 3 levels.... one  for big people, one for little people, and one for ME!

Saturday we went to Bramble park and played fetch. It was really fun, and I was pretty tired when we got home.
I tried all day today to tell Mum we had to go to Mundy Park but she wouldn't listen to me. I tried and tried and she would just say "Enough" "Enough whining" .... Luckily she passed the park on the way home and saw that there was a dog event. It was the Official Grand Opening of the Mariner Dog Park at Mundy Park. There were so many dogs and people. Mum kept a very close eye on me. All the other Mummy's loved me and they thought I was so cute...obviously. And because it was a special day the Coquitlam Dog Shelter was giving away free dog licences. Mum got one for me and I am finally legal in Coquitlam. I didn't have one before because they want $70  to licence me. Thats a bag of dog food! or 2 jackets! or 3 planet dog toys!  I think considering they are using my baby picture without  my consent they should be giving my licence to me for free all the time!

Mum also went to the fabric store today! Papa asked her to make me a very special jacket. I am gonna be the mascot of his football team.... well second mascot... Lola (boxer goddess, love of my life) is the first mascot because her daddy is head coach. So Mum is gonna make me a blue jacket with Red fleece lining and a big white "C" on the back for the Centennial Centaurs. I will definitely post some photos when it is ready. The next game is Friday so Papa says it has to be ready by then.
Ohh Ohh and I almost forgot... My Nonno and Nonna are coming to visit all the way from Toronto. It's gonna be a great week!
Well thats it for now. I'm gonna go sit on Mum's feet while she iron's some clothes....who needs slippers!
